CHARITIES -- 2009

Bob’s "Charity of the Month"

Starting in June 1996, we initiated our "Charity of the Month" Program. Each month we asked our customers to vote for their favorite charity from a list of three local charities we felt were worthy of our support. With your help, we have donated over $493,000.00 to assist those less fortunate.

We have changed our Charity of the Month program starting in Jan. 2009. Instead of the guest voting for one of three charities each month, we have adopted 4 "permanent" charities that we will recognize and donate 1% of our dining room sales to each month. They are as follows:

January, May, September
The Burbank Police Department Downed Officers’ Foundation: provides financial support to families of fallen Burbank Police officers,as well as support for law enforcement personnel that are stricken with catastrophic illness and injuries.

February, June, October
The John Burroughs High School Scholarship Fund: provides supplemental instructional materials for the teachers in the classrooms.This support will provide additional opportunities to enhance learning and will greatly benefit the current student.

March, July, November
The Burbank High School Scholarship Fund: financially assist seniors who will be attending a college or university upon meeting all graduation requirements from Burbank High School.

April, August, December
Northridge Hospital’s Children’s Assault Treatment Services (CATS): is the only 24/7 program in our community that provides victims of sexual assault, many of whom are children age 6 and under, with forensic examinations, counseling, as well as evidence collection that helps apprehend and prosecute perpetrators.

December 2008’s winner was FREEDOM ALLIANCE SCHOLARSHIP FUND, to which Bob's was delighted to donate a total of $3,677.92.
